David Salisbury are delighted to announce that we now have 10 product models live on the NBS National BIM Library. For those not familiar with BIM, it is an acronym for Building Information Modelling and brings together all of the information about every component of a building, in one place.
NBS describe BIM in the following way: "BIM describes the means by which everyone can understand a building through the use of a digital model which draws on a range of data assembled collaboratively, before during and after construction. Creating a digital Building Information Model enables those who interact with the building to optimize their actions, resulting in a greater whole life value for the asset."

The NBS National BIM Library is the industry source for generic and proprietary BIM content. The files are created in platform-neutral IFC format as well as the industry's leading 3D CAD formats: Autodesk Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks and Bentley.
BIM objects contain information such as product properties (U-values, thermal performance, material etc), maximum and minimum size restrictions, functioning data, visual models representing product appearance and much more. These high-quality BIM models are an essential resource to any Architect, Specifier and Construction Industry Professional.
