The casement windows are all glazed in our workshop by our highly skilled team of glaziers. The external beading profile is designed to replicate the look of a traditional bead while utilising modern manufacturing techniques and a concealed pin system which ensures a blemish-free surface to the glazing bead. A full range of glass specifications are available.
We offer a full range of glass units including slim-lite units, internal blinds, triple glazing and switchable glass. We can supply various other options to improve U-values, reduce heat gain or to ensure greater security. Etched or patterned glazing can also be supplied.
• 24mm double glazed sealed units manufactured to a 4-16-4 configuration. Conforms to BS5713*
• Toughened safety glass as standard
• 44mm Triple – glazing available (requires increased timber sizes)
• Factory glazed using a fully sealed system
• Low emissivity, solar control, tinted, easy-clean, obscure and laminated glass are all available as options at an extra cost
A choice of 18mm bonded bars or 44mm (34mm or 24mm with slim-light glazing) through bars allow a full range of fenestration options, from Georgian multi-pane units to semi-circular or Gothic beading configurations. All casement windows are supplied with Tokyo handles as standard, available in a range of finishes. Other options are available on request. All handles are compatible with the espag, locking gear.
These are the standard hinge for our projecting and flush windows. These hinges hold the casement open to the desired angle without the need for any casement stays and when closed are not visible internally or externally. An additional restrictor button option is available. The friction hinge on our side hung flush window range will allow opening to 90 degrees.
Available for both projecting and flush casements, these hinges operate very similarly to the friction hinge but with the added feature of allowing the casement to open to a 90 degree angle. These hinges are often required to provide a means of escape for fire regulations. Further options are available such as restrictor buttons and an easyclean option, allowing for the sash to slide across to the middle of the frame to give access for cleaning.
Traditional butt hinges are only available for our flush casement windows. These hinges are available in a range of finishes and come with a discreet restrictor arm fitted to the top of the casements. These hinges are visible from the external of the windows.
Cranked Butt Hinge
When opening projecting casements reach a certain size limit, friction and egress hinges are no longer suitable and so the window will be operated on cranked butt hinges. These operate as per the traditional butt hinge but have an additional cranked attachment to attached to our 70mm framing.
Wink Haus Brake Gear
Top hung sashes over a certain size limit will operate on Wink Haus brake gear. By engaging the handle when the window is in the open position the Wink Haus brake gear will be engaged and fix the sash in place. This discreet system is housed in the frame and sash eliminating the need for unsightly additional stays. Please note windows with wink haus gear do not have a night vent facility.
Timber is treated with three coats of factory applied micro-porous paint or translucent stain providing a fully finished product. Our fully automated finishing plant provides a high build, uniform paint finish. All paint, primers and finishes are micro-porus, allowing the timber to breathe naturally.
A choice of standard paint colours are available. Special colours can also be produced to match any sample or RAL reference number. We can also provide a combination of two-tone internal/external.
